Boise Idaho (pronounced boy-see) is the capital seat and heart of Ada County is the most populous city in the state. Boise means wooded and the area is frequently referred to as the City of Trees.

Downtown Boise is truly a success story. I had a boutique in downtown Boise for 15 years, visitors and recent transplant could not get over how vibrant and alive our downtown is while nationally downtowns are declining as growth moves towards the burbs. Very aggressive urban renewal efforts beginning in the 80's turned downtown around. We now have more than 110 retail stores (from a renowned independent music store and specialty boutiques to national chains like Urban Outfitter, Ann Taylor and Macys) 90 dinning and entertainment establishments and 75 retail services. With shopping, dinning, sports, arts, entertainment lodging and urban housing opportunities there is something for everyone all in a clean and safe environment. Downtown Boise is a unique combination of urban excitment while still retainings it's small town charm.
